An Island Estate Tavern Island, Rowayton, CT A renovation of a historic island estate. The exterior of the house was renovated in part. New energy efficient windows installed at certain locations, new wood shingle roof, and miscellaneous restorations to the exterior. The interior of the house was completely renovated and existing wood paneling restored. New kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. New wood floors and radiant heat. Modern detailing, in keeping with the historic character of the house, gives a clean and relaxed look with low maintenance in mind. Custom cabinetry throughout provides comfortable living, work, and storage spaces. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and there are three small beaches at low tide. Black/white photographs are before and during construction and color are after.
